To help inspire WA schools to find new ways to cut their energy consumption, we have a 1.5kw solar photo voltaic (PV) system to give away, kindly sponsored by Solar Shop Australia. This system uses the power of the sun to generate sustainable energy with little or no greenhouse gas emissions.
For your chance to win, your school needs to register online before 2nd July and then reduce your energy consumption by the biggest percentage during the competition period. You’ll submit weekly meter readings online and your results will be measured against your school’s daily energy consumption during a similar billing period in 2009.
Read the terms and conditions and register for the competition today.

Switch Off is a school-based competition to encourage WA schools to reduce their energy use. The competition was created by two students in La Sale College's Talented and Gifted program, Jessica Gill and Laura Ryan, and ran for the first time in Term 3 of 2009. Synergy, Solar Shop Australia, Equilibrium and Pet Rock Media were approached to sponsor the competition.
Last year, Quinns Beach Primary School won. They reduced their energy use by 29.41% over the competition period.
